Sorry for your loss. I seen John almost everyday at Union Gas. He was kind and caring and always had a story to tell. Even if it was about scaring the birds and squirrels from his yard. Back when he first started at Bell he used to board with my in laws on Poplar Street. We always had lots to talk about. He will be missed, mary.

I am sorry to hear of John's passing. I worked with John at Union Gas and he became a good friend, he taught me so much about telecom installs and worked on many projects with me after I moved to the City. I enjoyed our coffee meet ups and lots of laughs with John and when I needed it, he gave me some very solid advice. RIP John, you will be missed

So Sorry to hear of John's passing, he was a great guy, I worked with him at Bell. When he went to the gas I would still work with him as I took over his accounts upon his retirement. He was by far the hardest working man I knew. I stopped by his house one time he was off and I found him seperating all the dirt and stones in his driveway because he was bored. RIP my friend

To the Kish family,
So very sorry for your loss. I had the pleasure of working with John at Union Gas/Enbridge. Some of my best memories are having John come to my rescue. I could not believe how John was always one step ahead of me when I reached out to him. My telephone and I were in good hands. He would appear with a smile, a few uplifting remarks and disappear, work well done. Rest in peace John. You are remembered and your are missed.
Sincerely,
Gerva Shields

I have fond memories of riding in Uncle John's (1960?) white Impala convertible when I was very young. The family would drive from London to visit Grandma Kish, John and his brother Steve. Before John started his career with Bell Canada, he worked at the local Sunoco gas station. I suppose that job gave him much enjoyment, being around the vehicles of those times, now Classics.
He was always interested in what I was studying at school and what I might do in the future. I believe he was inspirational in my career path. I applied to Bell, but was offered an electrical apprenticeship with the local union first.
He had a very calm and easy going personality. Someone that was enjoyable to be around. A good role model, uncle, brother, son, friend and most importantly a loving father. I'm sure he will be missed by everyone. Sincere condolences to my cousins, Sharon, Stewart, Dennis, Charlene and their families.
Rest in Peace Uncle John.
Your nephew David Kish

To the Kish family,
Jeff and I were heartbroken to read of John's passing. We both had the pleasure of working with John throughout his years at Union Gas. As well, we both remember the hole that was left when he retired. He was a quiet man with many jokes to tell. We shared more belly laughs in his Bell Room! John will be very missed by us. Rest in peace our friend.

It was always a pleasure to chat with John for a few minutes, in the hallways of Union Gas, usually at the end of the work day, as he came in to work on phones. Farewell to a gentleman.
