Sr. Loretta was my teacher when I was in grade 3 at Ursuline School in Toronto. She was an exemplary teacher. Oh... I loved her. She gave me hot chocolate and saltine crackers one time when my mother was late to pick me up. I didn't have a worry in the world. I felt safe with her. She was an excellent teacher and so very kind. I visited her at UWO when she was at Brescia College and I was second-year student there. She remembered my name. Incredible! I love her to this day. Rest in peace Sr. Loretta. You made a difference in my life and I'm sure of many others who
you taught.
Sr. Loretta was born to be a teacher. She was kind but she had good boundaries. What a lovely woman she was and so holy. I remember her showing our grade 3 class a slideshow of Jesus's crucifixion. I was deeply moved by it and I noticed her looking at me... I think with a sensitive joy that I was feeling His pain. I'll never forget that. I also remember "Pioneer Day" when we made butter by shaking it up in a jar of heavy cream. Oh...if there were more Sr. Lorettas in the world it would be a much better place. May she rest in peace.
Sister Lottie was a smart, quick as a whip, no-nonsense Aunt. Her positive spin on life was engaging and refreshing. We loved seeing her out West the few times she came and enjoyed visiting her in her East environment. We were proud to have her in our clan and she be missed.
