Obituary of Sr. Dolores Senay
SENAY, SR. DOLORES (Dolores Marie), formerly Sr. Norman Joseph, entered eternal life on October 19, 2024. She entered the Ursuline Sisters of Chatham in 1951. During her religious life, she served as a teacher and principal in Chatham, Ridgetown, Stratford, and London. She did pastoral work in our mission in Chiclayo, Peru from 1984 – 1990. She was the local leader of “The Pines” Community from 1990 – 1996 and later was a pastoral worker in Stoney Point from 1997-2000. She moved to Windsor and did pastoral care, hospice work and service to the elderly, blind and shut-ins. She served on the coordinating team for the building and moving to Villa Angela, Chatham. She was elected to and served on General Leadership of the Community from 2009-2013 and continued to live in Windsor where she was also pastoral minister for people in The Lions Manor. She moved to Villa Angela in Chatham in September 2015.
Sr. Dolores was born in Windsor, Ontario in 1934, the youngest daughter of the late George and Eva (Decelles) Senay. She is predeceased by siblings, Camille, Cecile Angel, Martha Dupuis, Conrad, Norman (Corky), Paul, Joe, Marie Smith and Loretta MacDonald. She is survived by many nieces and nephews whom she loved and adored.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the Ursuline Community at a prayer service to be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the Kiva at St. Angela’s Meadow Retirement Lodge, 20 Merici Way, Chatham.
The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in the Kiva at St. Angela’s Meadow Retirement Lodge.
Both services will be livestreamed.
Interment will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery.
