Obituary of Irene De Vito

Passed peacefully at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Chatham Campus, on Wednesday December 18, 2024, Irene De Vito, age 93, of Chatham, beloved wife of the late Carmine De Vito (2014). 

Born in Montemarano, Italy in 1931, daughter of the late Carmine and Maria Di Blasi.  Irene was a member of St. Joseph’s Church. Irene loved gardening, baking and playing Briscola.

Irene is survived by two daughters Michelle (John) Magliaro and Grace Magliaro. Sadly missed by 8 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Also missed by 2 sisters and predeceased by a son-in-law (Tony Magliaro) and by one grandchild (Nadia) and many brothers and sisters in Italia.

Friends and relatives may visit at Hinnegan-Peseski Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham (519-352-5120) on Sunday December 22, 2024 from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Parish prayers Sunday at 6 pm.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday December 23, 2024 at 10 am in St. Joseph's Church. 

Entombment will be in Maple Leaf Mausoleum.
