At the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, on Sunday, September 13, 2015, Gerald Kenneth McCathern, age 78, of Chatham, beloved husband of Hazel McCathern (Valiquette). Born in Chatham, son of the late Donald and Alice McCathern.
He is survived by his children, Gerald Jr. (Bonnie), Chris (Nina), and Angela McCathern, his grandchildren, Elizabeth (Henrik) Monty, Gerald III (Amy) McCathern, Michelle (Phillip) Langlois, Aaron, Jocelyn, Brandon, Ryan, and Alexis McCathern, his great grandchildren, Destiny, Mataiya, Karson, Anthony, Alexander, and Sophie. Also survived by his sister Ruby Taylor of Chatham and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by a brother Alfred McCathern, his first wife Gloria McCathern (nee Ladd), and his second wife Linda McCathern (nee Austin).
Friends and relatives may visit at the Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham (519-352-5120) from 12 – 2 PM on Wednesday, September 16, 2015. A Funeral Service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 2 PM with Rev. Paul McPhail officiating.
Cremation with burial of cremated remains at a later date.
Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Chatham Christian Centre would be appreciated.
