At the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on Monday February 20, 2017, Leon Emory Poppe, age 80, of Chatham, beloved husband of Margaret (Oulds) Poppe. Born in Jeannette’s Creek in 1936, son of the late Helen (St.Denis) and Floren Poppe .
Loving father of Debbie (Tim) St.Pierre. Cherished grandfather of Jamie St.Pierre, Garrett (Lisa) St.Pierre, Michelle and Cory Broesma, great grandfather of Stefan, Nathan, Tyler, Avery and Gabrielle and great great grandfather of Haley. Dear brother-in-law of Brenda (Vaughn) Lozon and sadly missed by several, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a daughter Sandra Broesma (2006), a sister Shirley Mellow and a brother-in-law Ronald “Bucky” Oulds.
Friends and relatives may visit at the Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham (519-352-5120) on Thursday February 23, 2017 from 7 – 9 pm.
A Service will be conducted in the Chapel of the Funeral Home on Friday February 24, 2017 at 11 am with Rev. Fr. Jim Higgins celebrating.
Burial will be in Maple Leaf Cemetery.
Donations to the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation would be appreciated.
The family would like to thank the Nursing staff on the 3rd floor at the Hospital for their excellent care.
