Obituary of Rita Marie Mulhern

Rita Marie Mulhern, age 60 of Halifax, passed away July 27, 2015. Born in Chatham ON, she was the daughter of the late Lyal and May Mulhern (Boyle). Rita’s radiant smile brought joy wherever she travelled throughout the world. Her passion was music. She served her country with the Canadian Forces Band Branch for 30 years and as a reservist prior to that. She was a percussionist in the PPCI, Cornwallis and most recently the Halifax Stadacona bands. Survived by her partner, Sharon Joyce; her family, Mike (Sharon), Marie (Tim), Anne (Steve) and Joe (Beth) Boyle and many Mulhern family relatives as well as treasured friend, Dale (Bill) and several cousins. An animal lover, Rita will also be greatly missed by her beloved dogs BooBoo and Zulu. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 30 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at J. A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, and service will be on Friday, July 31 at 11:00 am in St. Theresa’s Parish. Burial will take place in St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Chatham on Friday August 7, 2015 at 2:30 pm with Rev. Fr. William Capitano as graveside celebrant. The Hinnegan-Peseski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements in Chatham.
