Obituary of Phyllis Wright

Wright, Sister Phyllis (Phyllis Virginia), a member of the Ursuline Religious of Chatham, Ontario entered Eternal Life on Monday, November 17, 2014 at Villa Angela in Chatham. She was in her 69th year of faithful service, having ministries as a teacher in Chatham, Mount Carmel, Windsor, Wallaceburg, Dublin, Edmonton and Calgary. She also taught at BresciaUniversityCollege and FanshaweCollege in London. Sr. Phyllis also did administrative work within the community and for the Ecumenical Forum in Toronto. From 1985 to 1988 Sr. Phyllis was a pastoral worker in Clarence Town, Bahamas. In recent years Sr. Phyllis played the organ at The Pines and Villa Angela in Chatham and helped in numerous ways with whatever needed to be done. Sister Phyllis was born in Windsor in 1921, the daughter of the late Emma Dawe and James Wright. She is survived by a few cousins and many friends. At Sister’s request, cremation has taken place. Relatives and friends are invited to join the Ursuline Community for the Bible Vigil to be held on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. in the Kiva at Villa Angela, 20 Merici Way, Chatham. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 21, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in the Kiva at Villa Angela. Interment will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery. Donations in memory of Sister Phyllis may be made to “Chatham Ursuline Charities” or to the charity of your choice.
