Obituary of Carmen John Miller

It is with heavy hearts that we share the loss of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother. Carmen passed away peacefully May 30, 2016 at the Chatham Kent Health Alliance surrounded by the love and warmth of his family at the age of 81. Dearly loved husband and best friend of Carol (Morton) for 62 years. Loving and treasured father of Heather, Kim (David)Boismier, Michael (Sharon), Dawn (Sammy)Myers & Jackie (Alan) Labadie all of Chatham. Cherished grandfather of Carmen (Linda) Boismier, Brandy (Tim) Dezan , Stephanie(Richard)Maylin, Mitchell, Amanda and Stefan Miller and Taylor and Sydney Labadie. Beloved great-grandfather of seven. Son of the late Carman & Winnifred (nee Croker) Miller. Survived by his siblings Carol (late Al) Horvath of Chatham, Janet Murdock of California and sister in-law Diane Miller of Chatham. Predeceased by his brother Robert (Bob) and nephew Christopher Carmen Miller. Admired Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Carmen (Jack) served in the Royal Canadian Navy stationed in Halifax, Nova Scotia where he met the love of his life Carol. Following his naval career he served as an Ontario Provincial Police Officer for 10 years before starting his own business “Miller Roofing & Siding” in 1960 which is now owned and operated by his son Michael. Carmen was a devoted Catholic and parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 28 (642) Chatham. A special thanks to the CKHA Medicine A staff for their compassionate care during Carmen’s final days. In keeping with Carmen’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will follow. Friends planning an expression of remembrance are asked to consider the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation or the Chatham O.S.P.C.A.
