It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our Mother, Mother in law, Mémére and Grand-mémère on Wednesday November 16, 2016 at Riverview Gardens surrounded by her loving family. Born in Tilbury East on June 4th 1928. Was the daughter of the late Armand Sauvé and Louisianna Brouillette. Predeceased by her loving husband Raymond of 49 yrs. Loving mother of Linda Lachapelle (Norm), Len Couture (Jackie), Paul Couture and Marcel Couture (Sandra). Cherished Mémère to Marc (Ginette) Lachapelle, Michel (Tara) Lachapelle and Martin Lachapelle, Erik (Vickie) Couture, Matt Couture, Kyle and Amanda Couture and Grand mémère to Tessa, Noah and Amélie Lachapelle and Ashlyn Couture. Surviving Bernice is her brother Rene Sauvé and wife Dorothy, two sister-in-laws Evelyn Couture and Agatha Couture. She is predeceased by Dorothy, Lionel and Clifford Couture. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Bernice worked a few years at British Leaf Tobacco along with Ray and at King Canning, besides working on the farm. Bernice was well known in Dover Township as an Enumerator for the Federal, Provincial and Municipal Elections and 35 years as a Cancer Canvassor. She was also known as the Avon Lady. Bernice was happiest playing Euchre, traveling to Shipshewana for the love of flea markets and making those goose outfits. Bernice embraced her faith. She was so very proud of being a member of the Ladies of Ste Anne and the Club de l’Age d’Or. We have to remember that Bernice was a fighter and stood firmly on what she believed in. The family wishes to thank the wonderful care of Fairfield Park Nursing Home as well Riverview Gardens where they cared for her in the last few years. Friends and relatives may visit at the Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham (519-352-5120) on Friday November 18, 2016 from 2 – 4 and 6 – 9 pm, where Vigil Prayers will be offered at 3 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday November 19, 2016 at 11:00 AM in Immaculée Conception Church, Pain Court. Burial will be in Immaculée Conception Church Cemetery, Pain Court.
