Of Kent Bridge, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at the Chatham Kent Hospice at the age of 97. Born in Hoedekenskerke, Netherlands, Jacoba was the daughter of the late Bert and Elizabeth (Thijsse) Verbeem.
Beloved wife of 55 years to the late Jules Libbrecht (1993). Jacoba loved life on the farm in Kent Bridge where she spent the past 64 years.
Loving mother of Arthur (Hilda) Libbrecht of Kent Bridge, John (Hilary) Libbrecht of Drumbo, Gerald (Kim) Libbrecht of Kent Bridge, Jane (Joe) Johnson of Chatham and Julie (Carl) Sterling of Pain Court. Proud grandmother to 12 grandchildren, Keith (Stacey), Vincent, Tammy, Mark (Melissa), Josh (Ashley), Jennifer, Michael and Daniel Libbrecht, J.J. Johnson, Robert (Katrina), Brian and Matthew Sterling and 6 great-grandchildren, Julia, Grant, Kaeden, Addison, Lincoln, and Hazel. Dear sister to Nellie Rockx of Tillsonburg, Mary (Joe) Sevigny of Chatham and sister-in-law Camilla Verbeem of McGregor.
Predeceased by her sister Helen (Ross) Gordon, brothers Peter (Susie) Verbeem, Adrian (Nora) Verbeem, Gilles (Adrienne) Verbeem, Ernie Verbeem, and John (Simone) Verbeem and brothers-in-law George DeVogelaere and Adrian Rockx, sisters-in-law Germaine (Paul) DeRyk, and Lea (Emerie) Herman.
Friends and relatives may visit at the Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham (519-352-5120) on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 pm, where Vigil Prayers will be offered at 3 pm.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at 10 am in Blessed Sacrament Church.
Burial will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Chatham.
Donations to the C.K. Hospice would be appreciated.
