Peacefully surrounded by family at the Chatham-Kent Hospice, on Friday October 7, 2016, Rita Belanger, age 94, beloved wife of the late Honore Sterling (1974) and the late Norman Belanger (2004). Born in Dover Township in 1922, daughter of the late Alma (Campbell) and Delor Myers.
Loving mother of Rosemarie (Dean) Coatsworth, Annette Higgins, Cecile Chauvin (Roger Legace), Yvonne (Doug Butler) Myers, Jean (Romain) Caron, Diane (Roger) Caron, Seville Sterling, Donald Sterling (Cindy), step-sons; Michael Belanger (Nancy) and David Belanger and one step-daughter Pauline Fall. Sadly missed by several grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and by a brother-in-law Ray Martin. Dear sister of Gerald (Marion) Myers. Also sadly missed by a sister-in-law Eileen Myers. Predeceased by 2 sisters, Doris Sullivan and Mary Jean Martin, 3 brothers Herman, Syl and Walter Myers and a step daughter-in-law Sue Belanger.
Friends and relatives may visit at the Funeral Home, 156 William St. S. Chatham (519-352-5120) on Monday October 10, 2016 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 pm, where Vigil Prayers will be offered at 3 pm.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday October 11, 2016 at 10:00 am in Blessed Sacrament Church.
Burial will be in St. Philippe Cemetery, Grande Pointe.
Donations to the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation or the Charity of One’s Choice would be appreciated.
