Obituary of Tadeusz Wozniak

Passed away peacefully surround by his family at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on Wednesday May 18, 2016. Ted was born in Poland on March 20, 1920, son of the late Franciszka Marcin Wozniak. Predeceased by his wife Wanda (1978), and infant son, Zdzislaw, (1947), brother Boleslaw and sister Paulina. Survived by his sister Regina Kosikowski , Poland.
Loving father of Christiane Millar (Christopher) and cherished grandfather of Jackie Wozniak. His loving life partner, Lucy Wlodarczyk of over 20 years passed away in 2008. Ted was a decorated veteran of WW ll and served as a pilot with the Polish Air force. He met his future wife Wanda, while stationed in La Mure, France in 1941 and they were married on April 25, 1942. He was sent to England in 1943 and became a member of Royal Air Force. T
ed and his family immigrated to Canada in 1953 and settled in Chatham. Ted worked at Daymond Aluminum, and International Harvester, which he retired from in 1984. Ted was a member of the Polish Canadian Club, (Past President) and a member of Our Lady of Victory Parish, which he helped construct in 1957. From 1970 until 2013, he was a member of the Polish Pilot’s Association based in Detroit.
Brother- in- law of Antoinette Grzebien, Margaret Klinard, Jenny Klinard and Alfred Klinard. Predeceased by brother- in- laws Stanley Grzebien, Marian Klinard, Henry Klinard and sister- in- law Lucette Klinard. Dear uncle to Jacek Wozniak and Stan Kosikowski in Poland, and Zosia Zolnieryk in Toronto. Loving uncle of Frances Latham (Bob), Michele Grzebien-Huckson (Brian), Brigitte Davis (Chris), Mike Klinard (Connie) Dan Klinard (Kelly), Helen Klinard, and Edward Klinard. Cousin of Zbyszek Kosikowski from Montreal. Longtime family friends of the Walczak and Wolanski families, Godfather to Tad Wolanski and special friend to Leon and Krystina Walczak.
Funeral visitation will take place on Monday May 23, 2016 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at the Hinnegan-Peseski Funeral Home, 156 William St. S., Chatham, where parish prayers will be offered Monday at 8 pm.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday May 24, 2016 at 9:30 am in Our Lady of Victory Parish.
Burial will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the Foundation of Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.
