Obituary of Sister Eva Meloche

MELOCHE, SISTER EVA  (formerly Sr. Evalina) entered eternal life on Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at Villa Angela, Chatham.  She was born in 1921 in Auld, Ontario, the daughter of the late Ernest and Blanche (Robideau) Meloche. 

She entered the Ursuline Sisters of Chatham in 1939.  During her religious life she served as a high school teacher in Tecumseh and Windsor.  After completing studies in France, Sr. Eva was a professor of French at Brescia University College from 1972 to 1988.  For twelve years she was the Archivist for the Ursuline Community and retired in 2000.

She is survived by her sister, Sister Irene, OSU of Chatham and several nieces, nephews and several great grand nieces and nephews.  She is predeceased by siblings, Helen Mayer, Benjamin, Anthony, Leo, Joseph, Theresa Ducharme and Paul.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the Ursuline Community at a prayer service to be held on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. in the Kiva at Villa Angela, 20 Merici Way, Chatham.  

The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Friday, December 28, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the Kiva at Villa Angela, Chatham, 20 Merici Way, Chatham. 

Interment will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery. 

Donations in memory of Sister Eva may be made to “Chatham Ursuline Charities”, 20 Merici Way, Chatham, Ontario, N7L 3L8 or to the charity of your choice.
