The Rose Beyond The Wall by A.L. Frink
A rose once grew where all could see,
sheltered beside a garden wall,
And as the days passed swiftly by,
it spread its branches, straight and tall...
One day, a beam of light shone through
a crevice that had opened wide
The rose bent gently toward its warmth
then passed beyond to the other side
Now, you who deeply feel its loss,
be comforted - the rose blooms there-
its beauty even greater now, nurtured by
God's own loving care.
My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. Be comforted by the thought that, like the rose, George's spirit lives on in all of us who remember him fondly.

"The Hope of Rising in Christ" of the Eucharistic prayer in the Masses for the Dead proclaims:
In him who rose from the dead,
our hope of resurrection dawned.
The sadness of death gives way
to the bright promise of immortality.
Lord, for your faithful people, life is changed, not ended.
When the body of our earthly dwelling lies in death
we gain an everlasting dwelling place in heaven.
Life is the greatest gift that God has given us. Death is only a bridge towards eternal life with God. Certainly heaven is rejoicing for another soul has finally reached his true home.
Dear Aunt Vicky, and Lisa, Stephen, Angela and Keith and your families,
You have our deepest sympathy and are in our thoughts and prayers as you grieve the passing of a dear husband, father and grandpa, and a dear friend and uncle to many. Our collective hearts are heavy with sympathy.
Without faith death leaves a heartache no one can heal. With (in) faith we believe Uncle George lives on. So there is no doubt you, and I/we with you, will wonderfully think of Uncle George for his kind face remains forever in our image. Love leaves a memory no one can steal. Let us trust in God’s love that does heal. Let the angels from God support you and may you come to know in this moment: “Angels are watching over you. Wings wrapped gently around you whispering “You are loved and blessed.”
“When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure.”
“Nothing is more painful in life as the separation of a jewel.”
“A good heart has stopped beating, a good soul ascended to heaven.”
“The universe received a new beautiful star.”
Wishing you peace to bring comfort and the courage to face the days ahead and may the warm, beautiful and loving memories of George wash over you at this time and stay with you forever to bring you comfort.
“Blessed are those who mourn for they will be comforted.” Matthew 5:4
May the love and mercy of our Lord be bestowed upon you and your family during this unfortunate time.
Accept our deepest condolences,
Michael and Sally
The Song of Farewell is sung during the incensing at the time of final commendation.
Saints of God, come to his aid!
Come to meet him angels of the Lord!
Receive his soul and present him to God the Most High.
May Christ, who called you, take you to himself;
may angels lead you to Abraham’s side.
Give him eternal rest, O Lord,
and may your light shine on him for ever.
Prayer of Commendation of the Order of Christian Funerals
Into your hands, Father of mercies,
we commend our brother George
in the sure and certain hope
that, together with all who have died in Christ,
he will rise with him on the last day.
We give you thanks for the blessings
which you bestowed upon George in this life:
they are signs to us of your goodness
and of our fellowship with the saints in Christ.
Merciful Lord,
turn toward us and listen to our prayers;
open the gates of paradise to your servant
and help us who remain
to comfort one another with assurances of faith,
until we all meet in Christ
and are with you and with our brother for ever.
Amen.
