Obituary of Angelique "Angie" Rupert

Please share a memory of Angelique "Angie" to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

At the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Chatham Campus, on Tuesday December 22, 2020, Angelique "Angie" Nancy Elizabeth Rupert, of Chatham at the age of 23 years, after a prolonged illness.  Born in Chatham in 1997, cherished and much loved daughter of Pam (Pearson) and Chris Rupert.  Loving sister of Aaron, Christopher and Lucas.  Beloved granddaughter of Paul Pearson and John and Betty Rupert.  Angie will be dearly missed by her many aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as her nursing and gymnastics families. Cherished friends Courtney, Maddy, Kim, Kelley and Nicole loved and supported her throughout her illness.

Predeceased by her grandmother Nancy Pearson, and her great grandmother Rose Sparks, who are both now with our Angie.

Angie was a people person with an infectious personality.  She had a flair for the dramatic, a great sense of fun, and loved to use her creativity to plan surprises and gifts for her loved ones. She was a gifted teacher and coach who inspired many young athletes at Starfire and Blenheim gymnastics. She was an excellent student, and so full of grit and determination that she finished her second last course in Registered Nursing just a few days before her death. Her ambition was to become a nurse practitioner, and to work as a missionary nurse.

Angie started her vocation as a missionary worker at a young age, when she decided to make a nutritious meal once a week for a group of homeless men. She did a missionary trip to Panama at the age of 18, and for her best friend’s 19th birthday, she collected a truck load of medical supplies for a sidewalk nursing missionary program in Detroit, despite her deteriorating health.  Even after her illness became severely limiting, she would often stop to see a sick friend in the hospital before seeing her own specialists in London.

Angie had a deep faith in God, and a special relationship with Mary and St. Theresa.  She lived her life in service to others, and did it with such grace, love, energy, and a positive attitude.  She saw the best in everyone, and then found a way to draw it out of them.  She was an excellent example to others; the kind of person who made you want to be a better person yourself.
