Janice and family,
We are very sorry to learn of the passing of Gary. We have known Gary since he has been coming up North to Hearst for hunting. Gary was very fond of and a very good friend of our father Patrick, who was the moose guide, for the Chatham-Bleinheim gang that has been joining us hunting with us about 45-50 years. Every year Gary could not wait to taste the moose suppers that our Mom would cook for all the hunters. At the family table, I still can hear his laughter and feel his hugs. All of our family members and Hearst friends will fondly remember him as a part of our family for the rest of our lives. On behalf of the Dillon Family we will always remember Gary as a loyal friend. Gary was very special for all of us. Marcel Dillon

Janice, Jake, and Jess,
I just wanted to say how very sorry I am to hear about the passing for your husband/Dad. He was a life-long, best friend of my Dad's (Ken Colebrook). I know how much my Dad loved him and all of the memories they shared together. He often speaks of all the golfing, hunting, and fishing trips they enjoyed as buddies. Besides all of the family camping trips when I was a young kid, what I will remember most about Gary is his infectious smile and sense of humour. I remember the last time I saw him was at my parents' campsite; relaxing in a lawn chair with a beer. He was always so happy to see my sisters and I. I love the hunting picture you chose for his obituary. This is exactly how I remember him; happy and SMILING! He will live in your hearts forever!
Love,
The Vergauwen's (Kelly, Jeff, Gavin, and Abby)

Janice and kids, I'm so sorry to hear abt his passing! I loved growing up with him and you. My mom's Houle cousins always seemed so much fun. I hear he even came to my own baptizm before you both were married. 47 yrs ago! LOL. Alot of my best childhood memories were of you guys. He taught me how to 'pop' my mouth. I always did it wrong of course! He was so kind to me, I loved his humour, his big hair(LOL), and his big huge smile!!!! When you guys were expected at the Perry cottage, I remember being so excited to see you guys at the special Perry hideaway! He was so special. Seeing you both at Paige's wedding reception was amazing. I'm glad I got to see him after so many yrs living in London with my son. I remember duck hunting with him and few others at the cottage when I was very young! He joined me fishing from teh dock a few times at the cottage, and it was so peaceful, and he always was so patient with me when I was trying to take the fish off the hook. So many good memories! I'm glad you both played a huge part of my formative years. He will be sorely missed! May he rest in peace now!!!!

Dear Janice and Family...I'm very sorry to hear of Gary's passing. It was always uplifting to see Gary at mass at Riverview. Often Janice and Gary would stay longer and I would remind him who I was and then he would have his huge smile and chat. As kids we both lived on Prince Arthur Ave. When I read about his love of apples I had to laugh because the word around the neighborhood was...if you had an apple tree and it was suddenly bare, it was those Allin boys. My sincere condolences to all the family.

Janice and Family,
I am sending my heart felt condolences, Gary was such a huge part of my childhood and I have so many great memories from trips to the river, sitting around the fire, hanging out in the garage and all of the New Years Eve’s we spent together. He always had a smile on his face and was the life of the party. Always being greeted with a kiss and a hug every time I came back home for a visit. I am also pretty sure that Gary might have been present for my very first sip of beer! The love he had for his family and friends will never be forgotten and I consider myself privileged that I got to share so many amazing memories with Moose.
All my love

Most of you won't know me but I was in many of Gary's classes at McGregor High School in the late 1960's and early 70's. I even had the pleasure (when asked by teachers) to help/tutor Gary.
I had not seen Gary for at least 30 years after high school and then had a number of occasions to see him and play a few holes of golf with him. He was a fun guy.
